Huntley Film Archives: Film Archiving for New Entrants

We are delighted to announce a new programme of training courses designed for new entrants.

This is the ideal course if you are looking to pursue a career in film archiving or seeking to expand your archiving skills into the moving image.

With nearly four decades of film archiving experience and tutoring, we offer practical and hands on skills to build your confidence in this discipline.

A five-day intensive course introducing you to the skills required to be a film archivist. Each day we will cover topics including film handling, scanning, processing, curation, research, and cataloguing. The emphasis of the course will be hands on skills therefore we will keep the maximum tutor student ratio to 2:1 We aim to bring each student up to a good level of confidence in film handling and a detailed understanding of film archiving and its procedures.

The course will be held at Huntley Film Archives in Herefordshire, England and is fully residential.
