The Training Committee sees the future of the film archive and stock footage market as dependent on the development and maintenance of the skills of the workforce. With this aim in mind, the committee will formulate, promote and host training initiatives and suggest, consider, review and support projects to develop and maintain skills required by the footage and content industry partners. The committee is also responsible for administering the Jane Mercer Memorial Fund.

The committee consists of FOCAL members with a specific interest in training whether from library, facility or researcher background and is chaired by a member of the FOCAL Executive who reports back to the FOCAL Executive Council.
