Our Aims:

Celebrate and champion the use of archival footage across all forms of creative media platforms.
Ensure and highlight good business practice in the research, licensing, copyright clearance and use of footage, stills and audio in all forms of media production through education, workshops and information-sharing.
Build activates to engage with and support the wider media industries and our community of members.
Support our members and provide a platform to promote their business and interests
Update on copyright and legal issues affecting our industry through the advocacy work FOCAL undertakes on behalf of its members
FOCAL International Awards, the association's flagship event, is dedicated to the promotion and celebration of archive footage in the creative industries as well as the work and contributions of many of its talented members.

Footage researchers, archive producers and media consultants, copyright experts other other industry professionals.

Executive Council

FOCAL International is run by a small administration team based in the UK, reporting to an international Executive Council of a number of Company and Individual Member representatives of the key sectors - Footage & Content and Skills & Services.

FOCAL International Committees

FOCAL International Committees seek to implement the objectives of the organisation. All such work is carried out on a voluntary basis.

Events Committee

The committee helps deliver FOCAL's events, both in-person and online, as well as the annual FOCAL Awards.

Supporting the Individual Researcher and Archive Producer members of FOCAL.

Finance Committee

The Finance & Management Committee oversees the setting of FOCAL International's annual budget and ensures that the organisation trades within those budgets approved by the Executive Council. In addition, offer support and advice to the FOCAL Office.
