Elizabeth Klinck is an archival producer, visual researcher and clearance specialist and has worked on hundreds of international films and television programs that have garnered Emmy, FOCAL, Peabody and Oscar awards. She is known for her work on Into The Inferno, Surgeon's Cut, Cheating Hitler, Anthropocene, Eat That Question: Frank Zappa in His Own Words, How To Change The World, and Stories We Tell.
A graduate of Queen's University, she has taught at Metropolitan University in Toronto and led research and rights clearance workshops at film festivals and markets, universities, colleges, and international conferences including Berlinale, IDFA, Sunnyside of the Doc, Realscreen, Sheffield DocFest, Documentary Campus, The World Congress of Science & Factual Producers, and Banff Media Summit.
Nominated for an Emmy in the Craft of Research and three times for Best Visual Researcher at the FOCAL Awards in the UK, Elizabeth has won six Best Visual Research Awards at the Canadian Screen Awards, 2015 Gemeaux, a Yorkton Golden Sheaf award, and the 2009 FOCAL International Lifetime Achievement Award. She was the inaugural honouree of the Documentary Organization of Canada’s DOC Luminary Award. In 2019 Elizabeth was awarded the Canadian Screen Awards Board of Director's tribute for her contribution to Canadian film and television. In 2023, Elizabeth was honoured at Hot Docs as their 30th Anniversary “Focus On” and the recipient of the Alda Award at the Gimli International Film Festival.
Elizabeth served on the board of WIFT Toronto, Impact Media Summit and is the founding chairperson of the Visual Researchers' Society of Canada. She is on Executive Committee for FOCAL International in the UK and is a member of BAFTA, WIFT, AMCUP, and DOC Toronto.
