As a registered charity, the Yorkshire and North East Film Archives' job is to preserve and create access to our collections of over 70,000 items of moving image spanning more than 120 years, including work from early pioneering filmmakers, industrial and advertising collections, news and regional programmes, through to amateur filmmakers, cine clubs, and home movie makers.

Our team are here to work with you at every stage, from research, to screeners, supply and licencing. Whatever your interest, start by taking a look at our website and media management system, powered by Imagen, where you can browse through hundreds of hours of content, and thousands of catalogue records.

Increasingly, we’re aware that researchers and producers are looking for archive footage that shows a different perspective – previously unseen, or less well-known footage – which can bring a new edge to your productions. We offer a friendly, efficient, and professional service, and understand the need to work to deadlines, so respond promptly to enquiries. A chat with one of our team can be the key to unlock more of our collections; we often have content not yet available online, but that just might be the exact footage you’re looking for.
