The Cohen Film Collection brings together film treasures contained in the Rohauer Library. The Collection includes a library of more than 800 rare world-renowned movie classics including films by acclaimed directors such as D.W. Griffith Alfred Hitchcock and James Ivory and starring celebrated actors like Buster Keaton Douglas Fairbanks Emma Thompson Hugh Grant Anthony Hopkins Vivien Leigh Ava Gardner Joan Crawford and many more. In addition to their historic significance these movies feature stories that entertain universal themes that still resonate and craftsmanship that inspires today's generation of cutting-edge filmmakers. The systematic preservation of the many classics in this unique film library ensures that they are available to be enjoyed by generations to come.Over 100 of these rare classics have been restored in 2K and 4K such as Merchant Ivory's Howards End and Buster Keaton's The General. The titles we represent for clip licensing include rediscovered and exclusive material the best of indie cinema with a variety of themes including such diverse titles as James Whale's 1932 horror classic "The Old Dark House" starring Boris Karloff; Raoul Walsh's 1924 great silent film "The Thief of Bagdad" starring Douglas Fairbanks; Albert Lewin's 1951 "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman" starring Ava Gardner and James Mason; and David Miller's 1952 film noir thriller "Sudden Fear" starring Joan Crawford.
