Guillaume Boure is an Independent Archival Producer, Time-based Media Preservationist and Audiovisual Translator. Since 2020, he is working with the Visual History Program at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). The year before moving to Los Angeles, Guillaume was providing footage research and translations on two ambitious non-fiction projects: Yves Jeuland and Aude Vassallo’s extensive documentary: Charlie Chaplin, The Genius of Liberty (2022 FOCAL International Award for Best Use of Footage in a History Feature Production) on the artist’s career, social activism and life controversies. Guillaume later provided licensing and clearance support on the last season of Serge Viallet’s award-winning series, Mysteries in the Archives, in collaboration with the Sherman Grinberg Film Library – American Pathé Newsreels. Guillaume has been an active AMIA member ever since he joined the organization in 2020. His active involvement led him to be appointed to co-chair the Advocacy Committee of the AMIA Board with Valeria Dávilla Gronros. He founded and co-chaired the AMIA Student Chapter at INAsup – the French National Audiovisual Institute, from which he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master’s in Audiovisual Heritage Management.
