PROGRESS, founded in East Berlin in 1950, is one of the oldest and largest film distributors in Germany. Since 2019, the company has been digitising, cataloguing and distributing the entire DEFA collection and expanding its holdings to include international archive collections such as those of the Vietnam Film Institute and the Ukrainian State Archive.
