FOCAL Online Workshop: Licensing Content from France & Germany

Continuing with our series of 'Meet the Archives', we were delighted to host another online workshop with film archives from France and Germany.

Representatives from INA, France and rbb media GmbH, Germany, were on hand to answer your questions on how to source and acquire material. We showcased highlights and shared details of their extensive collections, what rights are available, any licensing restrictions specific to each territory and their process for end-to-end delivery of content.

Wiltrud Hembus | Senior Manager for Footage and Licensing | rbb media GmbH

Wiltrud Hembus, Film Studies at the Universities of Marburg and FU Berlin, worked as an editorial assistant at a film book publisher, and 10 years as a production and administration manager at an independent DVD label. Since 2015 Senior Manager for Footage and Licensing at rbb media, additional qualification in media law.

Mathilde Dehaye | Legal Advisor | INA

Mathilde Dehaye is a legal advisor at INA with 10 years’ experience in Intellectual Property Law. Following a degree in Intellectual Property, she gained experience in performing arts and photography through providing legal advice for artists and creators. Mathilde began working at INA in 2014, developing further expertise in audiovisual content. She is in charge of negotiating with right holders, clearing rights and making the archives available for licensing. Driven by a passion for the Arts and culture, Mathilde specializes in Intellectual property, allowing her to explore this passion further whilst guiding and providing the appropriate legal advice for those with whom she collaborates at INA.


Aurélia Charrier | Sales Executive | INA

Aurelia Charrier has been working in the media industry for 17 years.She started at INA in 2014 and is responsible for developing archival sales mainly in the UK but also in Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania. She previously worked at BBC Motion Gallery in London for 5 years licensing footage to French producers. In between those two roles, she worked as an archive researcher in Paris which offered her a better understanding of her current clients’ needs. Over the years, and thanks to INA’s extensive content in that field, she specialised in music archive, working for many award-winning music documentaries and major record companies.
