Corbis Names Jennifer Hurshell SVP, Content Development Corporate Communications

Hurshell to bring global client-side experience and orientation to key functional area

SEATTLE (October 1, 2003)-Corbis announced today the promotion of Jennifer Hurshell from senior vice president of Global Corporate Communications to senior vice president of Content Development Corporate Communications.

In her new position at Corbis, Hurshell assumes responsibility over the worldwide photography and footage groups, content partnerships, and media production and management. She will also continue to oversee Corbis’ global communications, and participate in shaping the company’s business strategy. The promotion is part of a larger restructuring of the companyÕs executive team.

"We have recently completed a stage in our growth that was focused on acquisition and integration," said Steve Davis, Corbis CEO. "Now that we have successfully housed all of our collections under the Corbis brand, we need to be intensely focused on shaping our content offering around our clients’ needs. Jennifer is a seasoned business executive combining a very relevant background of global Fortune 500-company experience with years of overseeing work of the various creative groups that make up our core client targets. Her international expertise in the media, advertising, and publishing sectors make her a natural choice to assume these responsibilities."

Hurshell joined Corbis in November 2002 from her post as president and co-founder of Global Red Group, an international communications marketing consultancy with offices in Seattle and Hamburg, Germany. Clients included Eastman Kodak, Anheuser Busch, and Volkswagen. Prior to that, Hurshell was director of worldwide public relations sponsorship for Volkswagen AG, Germany, where she led the international marketing and repositioning strategy to "rejuvenate" the Volkswagen brand and as a means to prepare the company’s target markets for the subsequent launch of the New Beetle.

Hurshell is based in the company’s Seattle headquarters, and reports to CEO Steve Davis.
