Myvideorights.com signs deal with BBC motion gallery

Myvideorights.com has signed a three year worldwide deal to distribute, monetise and monitor over 200 hours of short-form programmes for BBC Motion Gallery, a division of BBC Worldwide. BBC Motion Gallery has one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of high quality motion imagery and video in the world and will supply short-form programmes across a wide range of genres including sport, lifestyle, music, light entertainment, science technology and travel.

The deal will also see myvideorights.com utilize various ‘fingerprinting’ tools to monitor and police the content across the web and claim illegally copied files. The initial content will be made available to hundreds of platforms including online, IPTV and mobile players. The use of digital fingerprinting will allow Myvideorights.com to prevent the content from being illegally distributed as well as enabling profiling of online audiences based on real usage.

Myvideorights.com distributes content to video publishing platforms who are increasingly demanding safe, professionally produced content to attract advertisers. BBC Motion Gallery has appointed Myvideorights.com as a distributor in order to exploit revenue opportunities from these platforms and to assist with controlling and monitoring their content.

Ashley Mackenzie, CEO of Myvideorights.com, says: “Monitoring BBC Motion Gallery content will help limit the actions of pirates and enable BBC Motion Gallery to make their content work harder for them both in terms of revenue and in learning about the demographic of those watching their content online. We look forward to working for them today and in to the future.”

Paul Maidment, Business Development Director BBC Motion Gallery, says: “To understand our content, to measure its effectiveness and its direction is a powerful tool for BBC Motion Gallery. Our short-form programming is increasingly being used by brands, agencies and portals in the digital media space and this partnership will enable us to monitor and distribute our content even more effectively.”
