Studio Hamburg Presents New Digital Music Archive

Bigger, faster and even more user-friendly: www.fa-archive.de/music

The digital music archive presents itself with a new look

Studio Hamburg Fernseh Allianz (FA) GmbH increased its digital music archive www.fa-archive.de/music considerably and gave it a general overhaul. Since its launch at the end of 2002, the initial number of 500 music clips has been growing up to 2,800, amongst them such unique clips as from superstars like Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Joe Cocker, The Bee Gees, The Beach Boys and many more. Some further 2,200 titles are being captured continuously.

To enlarge the site different data sources have now been brought together. Pure text data from an access database are combined on a platform with video contents from the basic media archive¨. The database includes material from the beginning of German music television in the 60s and goes up to the 80s. The latest entries are automatically registered in the database and allow the visitor of the website to follow up the growing number of music clips offered.

Also the online archive of Fernseh Allianz’s homepage www.fa-archive.de is new and any kind of genre can be chosen there. For the user it is particularly easy to log in at any stage of the new site www.fa-archive.de/music which, in order to log oneself in, prevents the visitor from having to go back to the homepage after a search was done. All search results thus remain unchanged and the requested page does not have to be called up again by some lavish clicking. The new trailers on the homepage in flash format are very appealing in sound and look. They show the user the programmes from which the music clips have been taken, whether "Beat Club", "Beat Beat Beat", "Musikladen" or "Rockpalast".

The English language online archive of Fernseh Allianz is internationally successful : among its customers one can find music channels such as VH-1 USA, MTV Europe and CHUMCity in Canada. With its programmes "Beat Club", "Musikladen" and "Rockpalast" Studio Hamburg Fernseh Allianz (FA) is the only German supplier of music clips in the field of music television from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The rising demand for content is not only due to the growing DVD market. "The TV stations are producing more and more themselves instead of purchasing complete programmes. As supplier of unique contents we are delighted with the increasing demand for such material", says Birte Zywko, International Sales Manager.

Studio Hamburg Fernseh Allianz (FA) GmbH distributes contents for TV, video, DVD, online and offline services worldwide.

Many archives of ARD’s different regional TV stations (the first German national TV channel) are at the disposal of Fernseh Allianz for further exploitation. Excerpts from the German TV news ARD-aktuell and other archive material from the Norddeutscher Rundfunk are distributed exclusively worldwide.
